About the research

I'm Ramya Chandran, currently pursuing my MA
in Design from LASALLE College of Arts, Singapore.
This website is a short look at my design research in the topic of preserving cultural heritage within the context of Temple architecture in Chennai India. This work was done over a span of one and an half years (2020-21) and it was a detailed look at the scope of using design within the sphere of heritage to increase its sustainability in a fast-paced information economy.
The idea was to use collaborative techniques, new media and ancient knowledge with the curatorial properties of design to create a multiple modernities that facilitate survival
of our precious heritage, making it timeless and sustainable.
